Kid’s Day 2022
Thursday, April 28, 2022, was Bring Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Kuehne employees in both the Kearny, New Jersey and New Castle, Delaware facilities participated by bringing their children and engaging in some fun activities at the plant.
Children started off their day with a nice breakfast in the conference room. In Delaware, Kuehne Company’s President, Mr. Zach Kuehne, joined the children and some parents, while Mr. Dave Tahan, Chief Financial Officer, joined the New Jersey crew.
The children were then briefed on the importance of safety while in the facility. They were given hard hats, safety glasses, and respirators and instructed how to use them. The plant managers gave everyone a tour of the facilities, where they enjoyed climbing salt piles, learning about how pipes fit together, and getting to turn valves to fill up tanks.
In the laboratory, children learned how different elements can create colored foam when mixed appropriately and embarked on a mystery to identify various solutions using laboratory tests and clues. One big favorite was going outside to witness some Mentos and soda reactions. Chemists Azade Zare Tabibi and David Miyamoto did an excellent job planning and leading the lab experiments!
Clay modeling with Kuehne Engineer, Adrian Zapata, was a big hit! And the kids loved getting to sit in trucks, forklifts, and other vehicles at the transportation department.
Thank you to all the parents and children who participated in this event! And a huge thank you to all of those who planned, guided, and helped make it happen: Violet Herring, Marta Fernandes, Jessica Bandera, Manny Correia, Dave Ramsey, Joey Wilson, Rayan Carter, Steve Gehrlein, Joe Kwiatkoski, Mario Cifuentes, Marcia Thorpe, David Miyamoto, Azade Zare Tabibi, Adrian Zapata, Joana Tavares, Dave Tahan, Brenda Calderon, Keith McLaughlin, Julia Rodriguez, Linda Kelly, Jill Drazek, Zach Kuehne, and Ronda Kuehne!

Among the many wonderful things this company does for its employees, “take your kids to work” day is by far the coolest! These kids will have a lifetime of great memories as will we. It was a joy to participate and watch their little faces light up when they got to blow the air horn in a real tractor trailer!!!!
It was wonderful that so many families participated! Was a fun day for all. Thank you for bringing your children!
