Sean McNamara Kuehne Showcase
Sean McNamara has been working with Kuehne as a C Mechanic at the New Haven plant for a little over a year now. He began his career in the chemical industry when his girlfriend’s step-father encouraged him to apply for a temp job at another company that offered the possibility of a well-paid full-time position.
Sean decided to give the job all he could with the hope of advancing in the company. Sean was soon working 80-hour weeks on a regular basis. Management noticed what a dedicated worker he was and offered him a promotion.
Contributing to Society

When asked what Sean enjoys about his job, he commented “you can see the impact it has on society. We directly affect public health. I think that’s pretty awesome.” He also says that he enjoys the people he works with, “Everybody works together seamlessly,” he says. “When it’s time for people to step up, they do. Jamie and Eric are always right there and ready to help when I run into an issue.” Jamie Marsh is Kuehne’s New Haven Plant Manager, and Eric Ayotte is the Maintenance Supervisor.
What Makes the Job Interesting
One aspect that Sean enjoys about his job is that there is always something different to do. There are generally multiple projects going on at once that need to be prioritized, and you never know what might come up during the day that needs immediate attention.

Others are also impressed by Sean’s can-do attitude. Jeffrey Montalvo commented that “Sean will drop whatever he’s doing if we need his help with anything. He’s a pleasure to work with and he’s also really, really strong which comes in handy a lot!”

Life Away from Work
When Sean is not balancing projects at work, he likes to spend time hiking and cooking healthy meals with his girlfriend. He enjoys going snowboarding in the winter and paddleboarding in the warmer weather.
Sean is also in college as a full-time student. He will be graduating from Albertus Magnus College this year with 2 degrees – one in Computer Informational Science and one in Business Administration! And despite working full-time throughout his entire college career, he has still made the Dean’s List each year and has maintained a 3.9 grade point average.
Moving Up

Sean hopes to transition to a managerial job upon completion of his education; we are looking forward to seeing him advance his career at Kuehne Company! Jamie Marsh, the Plant Manager at Kuehne’s New Haven site, says that Sean is proactive about getting maintenance issues repaired and bringing them to light for the rest of the crew. “He is enthusiastic and self-driven,” says Jamie. He goes on to say that Sean often checks in and follows up on things even after he is home. He is a dedicated worker and will be an awesome manager one day.
Thank you, Sean, for all the great work you have been doing with Kuehne Company. We are so thankful to have you on our team!
